At French, Shepley & Strong, LLC, we are more than work associates. We are a cohesive team that enjoys the fellowship of one another in and out of the office. Whether it is to volunteer in the community, enjoy a special event or learn new skills, we appreciate doing it together. These events solidify the relationships of our staff and as a result, we work better together to serve our clients.
First Fruits

First Fruits Farm in northern Baltimore County has been serving fresh produce to needy families and individuals in the community since 1998. We consider it an honor to partner with them once a year - to go out and help harvest whatever they have ready the day we are there. This year it was delicious corn. Together with other volunteers we picked 23,000 pounds of corn and packed 693 boxes of bread. Giving back to the community is a core value for us at FSS and to do it with this fine organization, that donates 100% of the produce they grow, is a privilege.

-MACPA Foundation Golf Tournament
Each year we like to support the MACPA by participating in their Golf Tournament. This year we took to the greens at Waverly Woods Golf Club. It was a fun-filled day that supports the work of MACPA which is to foster strategic networks, advocate for the profession through legislative action and offer professional development through CPE courses, publications. and advanced learning opportunities.
Black Eyed Susan Day

For over 100-years, fillies from across the USA compete at Pimlico's Black Eyed Susan Day, the Friday before Preakness. FSS participated in this long-standing tradition for Maryland. The day was filled with floppy hats, feathers, good food, laughter and of course, some amazing speed and power as the fillies displayed their spectacular abilities.
BARCS Dog Walking

FSS has animal lovers, and volunteering at BARCS is a great way to give back to the community. BARCS is committed to their mission to rescue, protect and find homes for animals. Several of our staff spent an afternoon in Baltimore, walking some of the dogs at the facility. Their sweet smiles say more than “thank you”, they touch our hearts with love.
Eastern Shore Outting

Gathering together for camaraderie and recreation is something we value highly. This summer, we had an overnight trip to St. Michaels where we shared food, fun and lots of laughter. We also celebrated the retirement of Bonnie Brown, an administrative assistant that has been with the firm for many years, serving with excellence. Bonnie is well loved and will be well missed.

It’s a day of friendly competition, networking, and, most importantly, making an impact. The Foundation works to build a strong and diverse talent pipeline, provide scholarships, and much more.

We set aside an afternoon each Christmas season to celebrate together. Lots of delicious food, games, activities, prizes and the annual Yankee Swap. It is a wonderful thing to enjoy the company of those you work with throughout the year.

Making a Difference with Moveable Feast

We look for ways to come together and serve our community. Moveable Feast has been a great partner in this, improving the health of Marylanders by delivering medically tailored meals and providing nutritional education to those experiencing food insecurity and chronic illness.

Each tax season is a little different, but each year our entire staff does what it takes to provide excellent client services and make it smoothly to the deadline. Often that requires long hours together. The evidence is in this picture, we truly are a team. We work together and we celebrate together. In a few months we will do it all over again. But for now, let’s have another round.
Overnight Excursion to Annapolis

A time away can be so refreshing, especially when it is with this fun group. We met in Annapolis and competed in a Scavenger Hunt – Congratulations Team Greg for winning! Shared a fantastic dinner at the Blackwall Hitch and then breakfast at the Iron Rooster. Tons of smiles and lots of laughter abounded.

What better way to spend a Friday evening than learning how to prepare and share a very delicious meal, complete with homemade chocolates. The evening was ended by walking together enjoying the amazing lights display of 34th Street in Hamden, a Baltimore tradition.
